Congrats Westy Hoopsters

Congrats to the Westy girls basketball team on finishing the 2021 basketball season on a great note. The girls made the state playoffs and finished the season 5-5. We started the season 3-0 ranked #1 in the state for the 1st time ever. Then we had to quarantine for 2 weeks which was a major disruption. We came back and played 6 games in 8 days. We qualified for the state tournament as the 32nd team. We played the state champions Valor Christian and were knocked out of the tournament. However we start 3 freshman and 1 sophomore. The future is bright for the Westy girls.

Congrats to freshman Hoopsters Mia Sanchez on being selected 2nd team ALL EMAC and Brooke Gomez on being selected honorable mention ALL EMAC. We are so proud of you.

Congrats to Hoopster sophomore Lex Trujillo on being selected 1st team ALL EMAC. Lex led the EMAC in scoring and finished 5th in the state 5A in scoring.
