Information for 2012 Spring/Summer
Tryouts for 2012 spring/summer season will take place in March.
High School (Classes 2013 through 2016)-
We normally have two 17U ”national” teams that will travel extensively throughout the summer (Black and Blue teams) with 9 players on each roster. These two teams will travel to five national tournaments and all of these will be NCAA viewing tournaments (see tournament info page for all team’s travel schedules). The purpose of these two teams is to offer girls who have a high level of interest in playing college basketball the opportunity to improve their game and gain significant exposure to college coaches and scouts. In order to accommodate high school and college camps in the month of June, we will not travel to any tournaments although there will still be regular practices. Our teams practice three times per week on average during the club season.
We typically have a third ”national” team (White team) that attends four to five national tournaments and all of these will be NCAA viewing tournaments. The purpose of this team is to allow girls who have a definite interest in playing in college the opportunity to travel and gain exposure to college coaches and scouts as well. However, depending upon the mix of player’s graduation years and the particular tournament, this team may play in some 17U and some 16U brackets.
Middle School (2017-2019) Tryouts-
The Hoopsters have an “open tryout” policy for middle school girls rather than a specific date. Any interested player should contact Steve Fendry about attending a practice. During that practice, Coach Fendry will evaluate the player and determine if she can join the Hoopsters. In some cases, the player will have the opportunity to practice with the club but not participate in tournaments. This may change as the level of skill improves.
All girls in 2017-19 classes from all middle schools in Colorado are invited to attend Hoopster’s practices. There is no charge. Please see calendar for the practice location which will usually be RanchView Middle School or Rocky Heights Middle School. We will be carrying multiple middle school teams. Two teams will travel outside of Colorado. As a rule, we will play in two tournaments each month on average although some months may include three.
